Sugar Cookie Frosting
This is two way to decorate sugar cookies. One is a spreadable frosting and another is piped on.
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Spreadable butter cream frosting
- 8 Tablespoons butter room temp
- 4 cups powdered sugar sifted
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla or almond extracts
- 2-3 Tablespoons milk
- gel food coloring for tint
Piped Frosting
- 3 cups powdered sugar sifted
- 2 Tablespoons light corn syrup
- 3-4 Tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extracts
- gel food coloring for tint
Spreadable Frosting
Beat Butter until it is smooth . Sift powdered sugar into a separate bowl
Add about powdered sugar a little at a time -I do about a half cup at a time
After you about a cup add the extracts of your choice
Continuing adding powdered sugar
Thin to desired consistency with milk
Piped frosting
Sift powdered sugar in a bowl
Add the corn syrup and extracts
Add 1 tablespoon of milk at a time while mixing until desired consistency
Tint with gel food coloring if desired
Transfer to a piping bag
