This Apple Dutch Baby is a delicious twist on a traditional dutch baby pancake. Full of cinnamon flavor and apples in every bite.

Ingredients
  

Dutch Baby

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 3 eggs -room temperature
  • 3/4 cup milk-the chill taken off
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extracts
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Apple Topping

  • 3-4 Apples of your choice peeled cored and sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting -optional
  • syrup of choice -My Buttermilk Bourbon Syrup is a great choice
  • Whipped Cream

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
  • Once oven is heated add 2 tablespoons of butter to a 10 inch skillet and place it in the oven
  • This is very important if you want your dutch baby to rise correctly make sure your eggs are room temp along with the milk, knock the chill off the milk by running it in the microwave 15-30 seconds
  • In a large mixing bowl beat together the eggs and milk until frothy
  • Beat in Vanilla
  • Slowly add flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon
  • Beat very well until there are no lumps
  • Once the butter is sizzling in the skillet carefully remove it from the oven
  • Gently pour the batter into the hot skillet and place it back into the oven
  • Bake 20-25 minutes

Apple Topping

  • Melt butter in a skillet on medium heat
  • Add peeled , sliced and cored apples
  • Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top
  • Stir and cook until apples are soft
  • When the dutch baby comes out of the oven let it slightly deflate
  • Add apples on top
  • Optional..Sprinkle with powdered sugar , top with syrup and whipped cream
