How to Peel a Peach

This is the simplest How to peel a peach method with no special equipment needed. Just a knife , boiling water and ice .

Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 pairing knife
  • 1 kitchen timer

Materials

  • Ripe peaches See notes
  • 1 Saucepan of boiling water
  • 1 Mixing bowl of ice water

Instructions

  • Prepare by getting a saucepan of water boiling and make a large bowl of ice water . Then with a small knife cut a X on the bottom of a ripe peach

  • Carefully drop 4-5 peaches into the boiling water with a slotted spoon. Set the timer for 1 minute

  • After the minute Carefully remove the peaches from the boiling water with a slotted spoon and place them in the bowl of ice water for 1-2 minutes
    4 fresh peaches submerged in an ice bath to stop the cooking process
  • Remove them from the ice water. At the X start peeling the skin off. Now it is ready to slice .

If you can get peaches from a farmers market or a farmer they are so much better than peaches bought at the store . Before attempting to peel them they need to be ripe . A ripe peach will smell fragrant and will give a little when you squeeze it . If it is hard when you squeeze it , it is not ripe.
