Pecan Pie Dump Cake

This easy Pecan Pie Dump Cake is sweet , buttery and full of pecans . It tastes just like pecan pie but with half the effort and is perfect for serving a crowd .

Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Dark Corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup Butter melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups pecan halves

Topping

  • 13.25 oz Butter Pecan Cake Mix see notes
  • 1/3 cup Brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup pecans chopped
  • 3/4 cup Butter melted
  • 1 cup Hot Water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9x13 baking pan with non stick spray
  • In a mixing bowl whisk together brown sugar , dark corn syrup , melted butter, eggs and vanilla . Mix until Smooth
    1 cup Brown Sugar , 1 cup Dark Corn syrup , 1/2 cup Butter , 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Whisk in eggs until completely combined
    3 large eggs
  • Fold in Pecan halves and spread into the prepared baking dish .
    3 cups pecan halves
  • Spread the butter pecan cake mix over the filling evenly
    13.25 oz Butter Pecan Cake Mix
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar over the the cake mix evenly then the chopped pecans .
    1/3 cup Brown sugar , 3/4 cup pecans
  • Pour melted butter over the top
    3/4 cup Butter
  • Then pour the hot water evenly over the top .
    1 cup Hot Water
  • Bake in preheated 40-50 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly
  • Allow to cool . Can be served warm or cooled .
  • Cover leftovers tightly and store at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days. To reheat, warm individual portions in the microwave for about 20 -30 seconds.

A yellow cake can be substituted for the butter pecan cake mix
