Texas Caviar is a fun dip with black eyed peas as its base and corn to add a touch of sweetness. All of the veggies not only add flavor it adds a certain freshness. The cilantro and spices give this a wonderful Tex-Mex feel .All this is tossed with a homemade vinaigrette to make a zesty dip to serve with Tortilla chips. The first time I had this yummy concoction was in the 1990’s when my Aunt brought it to one of our engagement parties. In my normal family fashion she made a GIANT bowl of this so we had leftovers. My soon to be husband fell in love with this and it has became a staple at my house for over twenty years . It can be found at our New Year’s Eve parties on to our summer cookouts , it is great for any occasion. It was years later I found out this is also called Cowboy Caviar. No mater what you call it , it is delicious . A great compliment to this dip is my Tex-Mex Layered Dip , both are always party favorites.
Appetizer
Corn Dip
This creamy corn dip has the perfect balance of flavors. The naturally sweet corn is a nice contrast from the spices and the fresh veggies provide a nice texture and flavor. This is the perfect party dip or a great addition to your game day menu. I don’t know about your family but on game dame we need snacks …lots of snacks lol. We love just about anything that can be served with chips like Salsa or a Tex Mex dip . The thing I love about this corn dip is it is so easy , literally ready to eat in less than 10 minutes.

Everything Bagel Roasted Cashews
Everything Bagel Roasted Cashews are full of that famous nutty savory flavor and is and perfect combination with the sweet cashew. This is the ultimate snack and very addicting , I honestly could not stop eating these. I had first tried these when at a specialty shop and they were super expensive but so good. I knew I could duplicate the flavor at home for a fraction of the cost and I did. I mean who doesn’t love the flavor Of Everything bagel seasoning? Mix it with a sweet cashew and you have an addictive snack you can not stop eating , these should have a warning label on them. I mean they are baked , not fried so that is a positive LOL.

Reuben Egg Rolls
.
I fell in love with Reuben Egg Rolls while on a trip and had to make some . This past February I went on a girls trip to Destin , Florida. Why a beach trip in February? Because it is BEAUTIFUL anytime of year!! While there we ate at local Irish restaurant and I was introduced to these Reuben Egg Rolls . They were amazing! Even the picky eaters in my group liked them. I knew when I got home I needed to replicate these babies. My family adored them including my young great nephew . These would be great for any occasion that snacks are required and would be perfect for St. Patrick’s Day. Another great dish for parties and much easier is my Pineapple Jalapeno Meatballs . …
Pimento and Cheese Sausage Balls
These Pimento and Cheese Sausage Balls are added to my list of favorite bite size snacks. I am obsessed with my Smoked Gouda and Pimento Cheese and making all sorts of goodies with it. This is my latest addition to the list but feel free to use your favorite store bought version. When cream cheese and pimento cheese is added to this sausage ball it really gives it a great creamy texture. The flavor is amazing also but if you like something with a pop of flavor use spicy sausage but the regular is perfect for me.

Chili Cheese Dip
Do you ever taste something and it brings you back to your childhood? This Chili Cheese Dip brings me back to my early teenage years . I know I proclaim that Tuna Casserole was the first official dish I learned to cook but this dip came way before that casserole. My parents used to have a lot of parties and I was in charge of this easy slow cooker dip . Back then we called it Barnyard Dip, it made it seem more rustic and special LOL. So remember if you want a cheese dip so simple even a kid can make it , this recipe is for you.

Tex Mex Layered Dip
.
So ,this Tex Mex Layered Dip has been around as long as I can remember. My mom used to make a large pan of this and it was very elaborate. She would make her guacamole from scratch of course and make things so much richer . She would had a ton of cream cheese in the bottom two layers and it was so good . She would also put so many toppings on top of the cheese you didn’t know cheese was there until you dug in. Well, this is my version and it is a bit simpler . We love Tex Mex dips at our house , you should check out my Easy Fresh Salsa and Bacon Bean Dip.

Boudin Dip
We all have that friend that doesn’t really cook . You know the one that always brings paper plates , napkins and rolls to a BBQ. So when my paper plate friend showed up with Boudin Dip to a party I knew I had to try it and boy it was delicious. Now this was several years ago and I couldn’t remember exactly what was in it. Since I could only remember the basic ingredients I just made it up and this is just so good. For those of you that don’t know what boudin is ..well it is truly a Louisiana treasure. It is a portable food in a sausage casing stuffed with ground meats, rice , vegetables and lots of spices. Where I am from there is no birthday party, BBQ, crawfish boil, baby shower, or tailgating event that there isn’t a tray of sliced boudin. It is a snack , appetizer , or meal and pure Louisiana comfort food. Let me be the first to say not all boudin is created equally and I am not about to start an argument of who has the best. This Boudin Dip is going to be a new staple at our house.

Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese
Growing up in the south pimento and cheese was a staple in the fridge , and this Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese is a must. The cold creamy spread on a piece of soft white bread is pure heaven on a hot humid day. While there are several acceptable brands to buy at the store, when I was young it was usually homemade. If you have never had this wonderful spread it usually consist of shredded cheddar cheese, mayo, cream cheese and of course diced pimentos. I got the inspiration for this from Sam’s members mark Smoked Gouda Pimentos Cheese, after purchasing it I literally ate it straight from the container with a spoon. Like always homemade is usually better, and you want have a large container you are forced to eat alone 😉

Jalapeno Cream Cheese Deviled Eggs
Here in southern Louisiana deviled eggs are a staple at any gathering. I will admit I have always been a classic deviled egg kinda girl, just plain and simple. Recently I have been introduced to adding cream cheese to the yolks….LIFE CHANGING!! It makes the yolks so creamy , smooth and adds a unique flavor. When creating these Jalapeno Cream Cheese Deviled Eggs I had my husband in mind since he loves the jalapeno cream cheese .Also, he follows a pretty strict low carb lifestyle . As an added bonus these are low carb and keto friendly. Even if you don’t follow a low carb lifestyle check out another recipe I used it in..Low Carb Spicy Cheese Ball .
