Cranberry Jalapeno Relish

This Cranberry Jalapeno Relish is a zesty twist on a holiday classic. It is sweet, tart, and spicy with a refreshing kick of lime and cilantro, it’s the perfect balance of flavors for a festive treat.

Put some zing into your next holiday spread with this Cranberry Jalapeno Relish. Scoop this up on a cracker or tortilla chip , or spread over a block of cream cheese . This would be a great addition to a charcuterie board along side some Candied Cinnamon Almonds, perfect for all of your holiday parties . Just a warning , this stuff is highly addictive and is hard to stop eating

Ingredients needed to make cranberry jalapeno relish -Cranberries , jalapeno , shallot , limes , salt and sugar

This is a very simple recipe , the only special equipment you will need is a food processor . The hardest part is letting it chill .

What you will need to make Cranberry Jalapeno Relish:

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • 2 Fresh Jalapenos
  • Shallot
  • 2 Limes
  • Cilantro

Let’s Make Cranberry Jalapeno Relish!

In a food processor blend the fresh cranberries , sugar and salt .

Chopped Shallot and chopped jalapeno added to the food processor with blended cranberries

Add the shallot and deseeded and chopped jalapenos , blend well .

Adding cilantro and lime to the food processor for Cranberry Jalapeno Relish

Next add the Cilantro, juiced lime and blend well .

Place in a covered dish and chill for 5-6 hours or overnight .

Serve with crackers or tortilla chips . It is a great relish on a charcuterie board.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz Fresh Cranberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 small shallot chopped
  • 2 medium jalapenos deseeded and chopped
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 2 medium Limes-juice only juiced

Instructions
 

  • In a food processor add the cranberries , sugar and salt

  • Blend until the cranberries are chopped well

  • Add the jalapenos and shallot to the food processor
    Chopped Shallot and chopped jalapeno added to the food processor with blended cranberries
  • Blend until the shallot and jalapeno is chopped well

  • Add the cilantro and juice of 2 limes to the food processor and blend until the cilantro is chopped well

  • This can be served immediately but it is better after it chills for a 5-6 hours or overnight
  • Serve with chips or crackers

Notes

If you don’t like cilantro this relish would still be good without it , just omit it 
This is good in a sealed container in the fridge for 5-7 days

How can I use Cranberry Relish ?

This relish is very versatile . It can be served over cream cheese , scooped up with chips or crackers , served along side your holiday meal or even a relish on a charcuterie board .

I don’t like cilantro , can I leave it out ?

Yes , this recipe will still be good omitting the cilantro . Just leave it out and don’t worry about replacing it with anything

How long is this good for ?

Stored in a sealed container it is good in the fridge for 5-7 days

Can I use frozen cranberries ?

This isn’t the best recipe to use frozen cranberries , they really need to be fresh .
