Maple Buttercream Frosting

Let’s Make Maple Buttercream Frosting !
Mix butter until light and fluffy , about 2-3 minutes/
Add a cup of powdered sugar , maple extracts and salt . Mix well and start adding the powdered sugar a little at a time . Don’t forget to stop and scrape the sides down.
Add 1 tablespoon of milk and continue to mix ..
Mix until smooth and creamy . If it is a little too stiff add another tablespoon of milk.
Now it is ready to spread on cookies , cakes or quick breads .

Equipment
- 1 Mixer Standup mixer or hand held
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter Room temp
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar sifted
- 1/2 tsp maple extracts
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1-2 Tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Mix butter until light and fluffy , about 2-3 minutes
- Add about a cup of powdered sugar , maple flavoring and salt and mix
- Add a little powdered sugar at a time , mixing as you go . Scrape down the sides as needed to make sure everything is incorporated well
- Drizzle in 1 tablespoon of milk and mix . If you want it thinner you can mix in the second tablespoon
- Mix until smooth and creamy

Notes
For this recipe it is not necessary as long as you mix it long enough to get any lumps out .
Add a 1/4 cup of powdered sugar at a time and mix . Keep adding until you get the consistency you like .
Yes it can be stored in a Ziplock bag or sealed container in the freezer for up to 3 months . You will need to defrost completely and stir it well when you are ready to use it .
This is give you a thin layer of frosting on a 9×13 cake , if you like a thick layer you will need to double it . A double layer cake I would double the recipe. This will frosting 12 cupcakes and about 24 cookies .
