Frequently asked Questions

Can I make creamy fruit salad ahead of time?

You can prepare it a few hours in advance, but for the best texture and flavor, it’s recommended to serve it the same day. The fruit will release juice over time, which can thin out the dressing and make the fruit soagy

How do I keep fruit salad from getting watery?

Be sure to drain canned fruits well and pat any extra juicy fruit dry with a paper towel before mixing

Can I use frozen fruit instead of fresh?

Fresh fruit is best for this recipe. Frozen fruit tends to release too much liquid and can make the salad watery and mushy.

What kind of yogurt works best?

Plain yogurt works great, but you can use vanilla or lemon yogurt for added flavor or Greek yogurt for extra protein and thickness.

Can I leave out the mint?

Yes, you can skip the mint if you prefer, but it adds a refreshing brightness that pairs beautifully with the sweet fruit and citrus.

Debbie, your recipe looks great indeed. I am a diabetic with arteriosclerosis and am lactose intolerant. So carbs, dairy, sugar and caffeine are off the table for me. So far, I’m overseeing my menu, which is very small in terms of what I feel I can at. Just thought, you might weigh in on possible recipes and food that I could use without hesitation and post from time to time. May the Lord bless you, 🙂
