Instructions
- In a soup pot or dutch oven brown ground meat . Once ground meat is done remove it from the pot and place it in a bowl and set aside for later. I put a power towel beneath it to absorb the grease .
- In the same pot add the olive oil and heat it up.
- Add diced onion, celery , carrots and parsley . Cook until the onions are clear.
- Add the chicken broth and Italian seasoning, bring the mixture up to a slow boil.
- Cook until the the veggies are done .
- Add the ground meat , spaghetti sauce and canned beans & tomatoes , bring the soup up to a boil. Depending on how thick your spaghetti sauce is you may have to add extra water. keeping in mind the pasta will absorb some liquid
- Add the pasta and simmer until done .
- Optional -serve with freshly grated parmesan

Debbie — your pasta e fagioli soup looks delicious. BUT……..I can not find a “Print” button anywhere in this recipe (which is almost always included in miilions of other recipes on the Internet). Am I missing something here that is probably very obvious? (Or…….is this your way of insuring that you get more clicks, and therefore make more money from this recipe?) Why would you NOT want to make it easy for all of us Food Lovers to prepare your recipes, and to store a printed version of these recipes for future use??? Thank you. Mike B.

I’ve been making a lot of soup these days (trying to use up all the stock I stockpiled in the freezer!) and this is one of our all time favourites!

This pasta e fagioli was so perfect for this cold snap we’re experiencing here in Texas today. I didn’t have red kidney beans so I subbed white kidney beans for them and the soup was still amazing.
That sounds like a great substitution . I am so glad you like this soup. It is perfect on a cold day.
This was so good and so easy to make! I switched out the ground beef for ground turkey and it was amazing! Loved all the beans and veggies and I’m so glad my kids loved it because they got a ton of nutrients!! Delish!

Yay !! I am so glad you liked it .
I was ready to wrint this yummy looking soup recipe when I noticed that it was in oz and lbs etc, not in metric… Is there any reason why you don’t include the vast majority of the world who use metric measures, etc? thanks
Hi William ..I am an American blogger/recipe developer and over 90% the traffic going to my blog all comes from America according to my analytics. It makes more sense for my measurements to be in Imperial measurements since that is what 90% of my audience use . I will look into a tool I could possibly install to convert but since 2017 you are the only person that asked about it. When I read a recipe that is written in metric measurements I convert it myself since that is what I am comfortable with .
