Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese
This Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese is bringing pimento and cheese to a whole new level of goodness. Rich and smooth it is perfect for any occasion.
Growing up in the south pimento and cheese was a staple in the fridge , and this Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese is a must. The cold creamy spread on a piece of soft white bread is pure heaven on a hot humid day. While there are several acceptable brands to buy at the store, when I was young it was usually homemade. If you have never had this wonderful spread it usually consist of shredded cheddar cheese, mayo, cream cheese and of course diced pimentos. I got the inspiration for this from Sam’s members mark Smoked Gouda Pimentos Cheese, after purchasing it I literally ate it straight from the container with a spoon. Like always homemade is usually better, and you want have a large container you are forced to eat alone 😉
I am all about saving time but for this recipe you will have to grate your cheese. For one thing you won’t find the smoked gouda pregrated. Even if it was possible I recommend grating your own. When you buy cheese that is already shredded it has a coating on it to prevent it from clumping up . So doing it freshly is just better for this recipe. I usually use my food processor but a box grater is acceptable also. I still remember watching my mother use her box grater to shred cheese.
Ways to eat Smoked Gouda
- On Plain Bread as a sandwich
- Served on a Cracker or baguette as a spread
- Served on a cracker with a touch of pepper jelly on dip..my personal fav!!
- Heated and served as a dip
- Grilled Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese Sandwich

Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese
Ingredients
- 8 oz Smoked Gouda
- 4 oz White Cheddar
- 8 oz Cream Cheese Room Temp
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1/2 cup diced pimentos
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Shred both cheeses and set aside
- Drain pimentos and set aside
- Mix cream cheese, mayo , pepper and onion powder
- Mix in Cheese
- Mix in pimentos
- Cover and chill

Hi Lanie .. I have never actually measured this once this was made . It’s a healthy serving and it seems like I stored it in a 10-12 oz container.
This is DELICIOUS and so easy to make. The hard part is not eating it in one sitting. So glad I found this recipe.

Can you leave out the mayo

Yes , but you will need to replace it with 4 oz of cheese of your choice .
