Sugar Cookie Frosting
This thick velvety smooth sugar cookie frosting will bring your cookies to the next level. This is a easy way to customize your cookies. It can easy be spread or piped on then add festive sprinkles , so much fun for the holidays. This is the perfect topping for my Cut Out Sugar Cookies .
Sugar Cookie Frosting
Ingredients
Spreadable butter cream frosting
- 8 Tablespoons butter room temp
- 4 cups powdered sugar sifted
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla or almond extracts
- 2-3 Tablespoons milk
- gel food coloring for tint
Piped Frosting
- 3 cups powdered sugar sifted
- 2 Tablespoons light corn syrup
- 3-4 Tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extracts
- gel food coloring for tint
Instructions
Spreadable Frosting
- Beat Butter until it is smooth . Sift powdered sugar into a separate bowl
- Add about powdered sugar a little at a time -I do about a half cup at a time
- After you about a cup add the extracts of your choice
- Continuing adding powdered sugar
- Thin to desired consistency with milk
Piped frosting
- Sift powdered sugar in a bowl
- Add the corn syrup and extracts
- Add 1 tablespoon of milk at a time while mixing until desired consistency
- Tint with gel food coloring if desired
- Transfer to a piping bag
