All of my recipes have been developed with the smaller cake mixes in mind. If they ever shrink the amount again I will have to adjust the recipes . I adore using cake mixes , it is a quick and easy way to make a wonderful dessert in a short amount of time with the least amount of ingredients . One of my biggest tips for beginner bakers is bake a box mix as directed and then make a homemade frosting. This will fool anymore into thinking you spent hours in the kitchen. If you really want one and don’t want to pay full price my advice is look to buy a used one , I have seen a ton a Facebook Market place. Also they typically go on sale for Black Friday and Christmas . I bought my heavy duty 6QT mixer on a Black Friday sale.
