Yes, you sure can! To make the dough by hand or with a stand mixer, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast first and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Then mix in the melted butter, beaten egg, vanilla pudding mix, salt, and flour. Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until doubled in size, then continue with the recipe as written.
The instant vanilla pudding adds a touch of sweetness and helps create a super soft and tender dough. It’s the secret ingredient that makes these rolls melt-in-your-mouth good!
Yes , after slicing the rolls and placing them in the pan you can cover them with plastic wrap and place them in the fridge . When you can ready to bake them take them out allow them to get to room temp and rise . For Holidays , I make these the night before and pull them out in the morning . It will take about an hour for them to get to room temp and rise in a warm place .
You can make a simple glaze with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, or use a buttercream-style frosting instead. It’ll still be delicious!
