Tips
- If you have a local farmers market take advantage of peaches from them . They are so much better than the peaches bought in the store . I bought a case from someone that goes to Georgia to pick them up , I am in Louisiana .
- Check out How I peel Peaches HERE
- Don’t skip the maceration process. This softens the peaches and draws the liquid out making a yummy syrup .
- Don’t be tempted to leave your peaches in chunks . They will be like hard ice in your creamy ice cream .
- Don’t skip churning the ice cream. This puts air into the ice cream making it creamy and prevents ice crystals from forming .
Let’s Make Homemade Peach Ice Cream
Peel and dice your peaches and put them in a bowl with 1/4 cup sugar . lemon juice and salt . The will soften the peaches. Allow this to set at least 30 minutes
Warm the cup of whole milk and mix with the remaining sugar . Stir until the sugar is dissolved and let cool.
Blend peaches and the syrup it made . Don’t be tempted to leave big chunks but smaller ones are ok
Add the peach puree to the milk and sugar mixture
Whisk in the heavy cream and vanilla .
Add the mixture to your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturers directions
Once Frozen you can eat it if you want soft serve if not put in a covered container in the freezer for at least 6 hours .
Serve with a few fresh peach slices .

- Stir the milk and sugar mixture together with the peach puree
- Whisk in the heavy cream and vanilla
- Pour into a an ice cream freezer
- Freeze according to the manufactures instructions
- I used an old fashioned Ice cream freezer and it took 45 minutes to an hour to freeze. If you like soft serve it is ready to eat
- If you want a firmer ice cream spread into a freezer container
- Cover and freeze at least 8 hours
- Serve alone or with a few slices of peaches . Store in a covered container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks .
Notes
Yes for best results this needs to be churned . There are plenty of no churn recipes out there but not this one
This recipe is best when peaches are in season . In a pinch frozen peaches can be used but defrost before starting the maceration process.
You can eat it after churning like soft serve ice cream .
This should be good for up to 2 weeks in a covered container in the freezer.

I love making fruit ice creams but sometimes the texture is a bit off. This recipe, however, was perfectly cream and there were no weird crystals or otherwise strange texture. Thank you!
